Jonathan Mount

Experience

Aviation operations leader with 9+ years across dispatch and airline operations centers, managing irregular operations and daily performance in high-tempo, 24/7 environments.

My work sits where operational decision-making, communication and technology meet: helping teams keep the operation safe, efficient and reliable when conditions change quickly. Alongside running the operation, I build internal tools and standardized processes that make information easier to find and act on.

Operations Center Sector Manager

2021 – present

Major U.S. airline · Dallas–Fort Worth

  • Oversee operations for three to four hubs and their spoke stations alongside other sector managers, or the entire system on overnight shifts, coordinating a few dozen dispatchers and operations coordinators at a time
  • Primary operational stakeholder for the performance dashboards and metrics used to evaluate daily and seasonal execution
  • Central liaison across station operations, maintenance control, crew scheduling, cargo and load planning, pilot and flight attendant management, maintenance planning and routing, and IT
  • Provide frontline context in weekly irregular-operations after-action reviews led by the analytics team
  • Built a Power Platform system that sends a daily summary to the entire dispatch team covering the day's events, the coming week and long-term items flagged a month or more ahead; its tracking became the basis for a new mid-range planning department
  • Replaced inconsistent spreadsheet reporting with a standardized, form-driven workflow with director approval before distribution
  • Built a cancellation-reporting tool that gathers root-cause input from the departments involved and distributes a company-wide explanation
  • Updated management training and documentation to improve information flow with the dispatch workforce
